SWAMI SUMITRANANDA SARASWATI - UK PROGRAMME 2008

Swami Sumitrananda was born in London.  She moved to Australia in 1975 and there she met her Guru and was initiated by Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda in 1983. She embraced the disciplines of an ashram lifestyle and started working within the teaching field for the Satyananda Ashrams around Australia.  She gained a deep experience of teaching the practices as systematised by Swami Satyananda with special emphasis on the application of Yoga for the needs of others in society.

From 1992 she has been a resident of the ashram and Gurukul in Munger, living and working under the guidance of Swami Niranjanananda, the anointed successor of Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda.  She has taught extensively for both Bihar School of Yoga and Bihar Yoga Bharati and has also been involved in the development of Yoga Education including the preparation of yogic study syllabi and the management and conducting of programmes such as teacher training, Kriya Yoga and Tattwa Shuddhi Course.

She is currently visiting the UK and is involved in a series of programmes across the country to share her understanding of the teachings and practices as taught by Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda and Swami Niranjanananda.
