Guru Poornima
Friday 18 July 2008

This is the one full moon day in the year dedicated to the spiritual preceptors, the luminaries of the world - those who, through their own study, practice and lives, provide the inspiration and illumination for us on our spiritual path.  Whatever your tradition, you are welcome to join us on this auspicious day.
Morning chanting and meditation at 8am.

Evening program will start with havan (a fire ceremony) at 7pm, followed by Kirtan and feasting (please bring vegetarian food to share).

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Come and join us in joyful singing and powerful mantra chanting on the first Friday of each month, except August.
(If the first Friday in the month falls close to a Public Holiday, you may wish to check by calling Prem on 0121 444 2590 beforehand).

At 6.30 pm, we focus on suffering Beings everywhere, naming those we particularly wish to remember, and together we chant Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, an ancient & powerful mantra for the relief of all suffering.

From 7.30 pm, we sing Kirtan together - joyful and heartfelt chants sung in unison or as ‘call and response’ invoking a deep sense of connectedness with our true nature.

Everyone is welcome to join us for either or both of these practices!
